What is the difference between being spiritual vs religion? People who are spiritually curious often ask this question, and I have the answer!
BEING SPIRITUAL
Spirituality means you have leveled yourself from an enslaved mind to an empowered one. Spirituality involves transformation to a self- reliant person rather than one who begs throughout life. The true power of spirituality is inside of you, not outside of you.
Going through a spiritual awakening or journey makes you realize that simple concepts that may have been accepted by primitive minds have zero relevance to today's sophisticated consciousness.
Spiritual people know that they are in charge of their own destiny. They shape their own future by using their minds to manifest what they want into reality.

BEING RELIGIOUS
When you are religious you belong to an established religious group like: Catholicism, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism or something other.
Basically if you have to go to a church, temple or synagogue to worship a God or deity you are religious. If you bow or pray to a God in the form of a picture, statue or stone you are not spiritual you are religious.
Even many yoga groups today in North America worship Hindu Gods are religious and not spiritual.

Religion asks you to believe. Spirituality asks you to look.
Religion has dogmas. Spirituality has wisdom teachings.
Religion wants obedience. Spirituality wants experimentation.
Religion speaks of sin and hell. Spirituality speaks of karma.
Religion wants to comfort you. Spirituality wants to liberate you.
Religion is external. Spirituality is internal.
Religion is the form. Spirituality is the essence.
Religion wants to convert you. Spirituality wants to inspire you.
Religion is an institution. Spirituality is a journey.

2. If you believe in the power of your own self and that you are in charge of your destiny you are spiritual.

Face whatever is holding you back head on and it no longer has power over you, you have power over it! Awareness and anything can't co exist. Awareness is more powerful than your ego, your emotions, your thoughts and your feelings. Awareness is what gets you back home to your soul purpose.
You can use your pain and turn it into power. If you are willing to work on where your pain comes from, the lesson to be learned and turn your knowledge into action, you can use your suffering to turn you into a stronger and wiser person!
